Chronos vs. Tempus

Time is a Measurement an abstract man made conceptualization.  It has many definitions.

Philosophical: Time is a daily observation that there is an opposition between the time of physics and the psychological time, between Chronos and Tempus.

Physics: Physicists define time as the progression of events from the past to the present into the future. Basically, if a system is unchanging, it is timeless. Time can be considered to be the fourth dimension of reality, used to describe events in three-dimensional space.

True Definition: the measured or measurable period during which an action, process, or condition exists or continues : duration. : a nonspatial continuum that is measured in terms of events which succeed one another from past through present to future.

Einstein: In the Special Theory of Relativity, Einstein determined that time is relative—in other words, the rate at which time passes depends on your frame of reference.

Carlos Rovelli: According to theoretical physicist Carlo Rovelli, time is an illusion: our naive perception of its flow doesn’t correspond to physical reality.

Can Time Exist without Change: We all experience time by experiencing change, but it does not follow that time is the same thing as change because, as Aristotle pointed out, change can be faster or slower but time cannot be. And time exists for things that are unchanging or static.

Albert Einstein once wrote: People like us who believe in physics know that the distinction between past, present and future is only a stubbornly persistent illusion. Time, in other words, he said, is an illusion. Many physicists since have shared this view, that true reality is timeless.

Thoughts

Aristotle and Leibniz, among others, have argued that time is not independent of the events that occur in time.

For example, when you visit the “About Us” page of your favorite company’s website you don’t expect the content to be very different from what was available there a week ago.

So the question still exist is Time a real measurement of reality or an abstract measurement of reality relative to change?  This will be a question that will persist through most peoples lives.  Ohhh… I don’t have enough time in the day or If I just had more time I could do that.   Because we have this fear that we will not accomplish what we feel is important do to space (environment) time relativity to the society of which we live in.  But have you ever observed the creative type of person that friend that seems to have no sense of time seems to accomplish very little but when you look at there writings or art work they create the most profound creations.  Yet they live like hermits or away from life.  The life of a CEO or leader compiles both sides of thought creative where time is relative and the logical where time is real and measurable.  Because it’s normally your objective to bring about timely change.   Change especially timely change brings about Stress!!! Mental, Physical, etc…  Which is a totally different subject… But one that leads to the reason we need Life Coaches.

THe idea of time and process of change

So we have gone over some basic ideas of time and the thought processes of change and stress.  So how do we manage the idea of time and the process of change??  For everyone it is different.  Some find re-charge in solitude and nature others find life in social activity, friends and family.  The ability to balance or manage the magnitude of change/stress during a given time period is a mark of a true leader.  Adaptability, Environment, Health and Lifestyle all play a part in the success of an individual and the Progress or Change they make through organization and life.
